The Ubaye Dairy Products Cooperative

THE COOPERATIVE:

The Ubaye Valley Dairy Cooperative was created in 1949 in Barcelonnette in the heart of the Ubaye valley to promote dairy production.

Currently the cooperative has 3 sites: the headquarters in Barcelonnette where dry cheeses are made, La Bréole where fresh cheeses and yogurts are made and the Ripening Tunnel (former Tunnel Ferronnière) where we ripen a part of the cheeses in the natural cellar.

Since its creation, the cooperative has been able to develop its traditional mountain cheese know-how. Moreover, the entire range of the cooperative benefits from the mountain appellation under the LE CHAMBEYRON brand.

Since 2018, the cooperative has had a new mountain dairy farm specializing in GOAT milk.

The entire range of the cooperative benefits from the mountain appellation under the LE CHAMBEYRON brand.

The cooperative brings together 11 mountain dairy farms for a collection of around 1.8 million liters of milk from cows and goats.
